Hello Samadhi Friends,
I have so much to share with you. But first, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your support this year. Many of you know that keeping the doors of a yoga studio open is hard enough without being in a pandemic. COVID has definitely had an impact on us. However, as many other yoga studios have had to close, Yoga Samadhi has continued to survive. A special thank you to Kathy and Jim Kacena and all those who have given donations this year to support the studio and the teachers who have lost income.
On a personal note, COVID has brought many changes for my family as well. Both of my step daughters have moved out of the house (one in college, the other moved to NC to live with her mom). The housing market in the gorge is at an all time high and my husband is now working remotely. With the challenges I've faced this year at the studio, my husband and I felt it necessary to take a step back and really evaluate our life and our future. After a lot of soul searching, it became clear that we are ready for a new adventure. We sold our house, plan to do some traveling, and will eventually settle down and build again.
So, where does this leave Yoga Samadhi? I have decided that it is in the best interest of our community to turn the business over to Pamela Chambers on January 1st. If you don't know Pamela, rest assured, you will love her!! She is one of the kindest, most loving and caring people I know. You will be hearing more about her very soon, so stay tuned.
Another thing that became very clear to me this year is how much I love to teach and how much I love our community. Running the business of a yoga studio often gets in the way of teaching as much as I would like to. So, in this next chapter of my life, I am looking forward to focussing my efforts on my own personal practice and expanding my teachings. I plan to stay connected to Yoga Samadhi, supporting Pamela for as long as she needs. I will continue to teach the Yoga Teacher Training each year as well as my Sunday morning vinyasa class, as long as it makes sense to do so, as our life continues to unfold. One HUGE benefit from COVID is that we now offer virtual classes, so when I am traveling, we can stay connected through my Sunday morning virtual class.
I know this is a lot to take in. Please know that I am available to answer any questions you might have. Thank you again for your love and support. Wishing you all so much joy.
In gratitude,
Crystal Borup
